The easiest way to create professional website templates
There are thousands of free templates on the Web that you can download and use on your personal webpage or blog, but wouldn't it be nice to use one created by yourself?
With Artisteer now you can, even if you have no idea about HTML coding or CSS designing. All you have to do is select the different elements that will be included in your template (header, columns, menu bar, buttons and the likes), customize their appearance (position on the layout, color, text font, pattern, special effects) and your template will be ready to use. It's as simple as that! What's more, the ribbon-style interface makes this WYSIWYG editor very easy and comfortable to use.
Artisteer includes several template models, though they're basically reduced to company web pages and Wordpress blogs. Besides letting you select and customize all the elements on your own, you can also use the 'Suggest' function to let the program create a random template for you – which may come in handy when you run out of ideas. Artisteer also includes tons of color schemes, header images, web backgrounds and other sorts of ready-made material.
The best thing about Artisteer is that it lets you preview changes right on its interface in real time. And when I say 'real time', I mean you can, for example, try different color schemes just by hovering your mouser over the scheme list included in the program.
When you're happy with your design, you can preview it on your favorite browser (Artisteer supports Internet Explorer, Firefox and Opera) and then export the design as an HTML document or a Wordpress theme.
Would you like to create your own web template but have no idea about HTML or CSS? Artisteer is the application you're looking for.

Recommending Artisteer Alternative.
I have very on and off relation with Artisteer, It has indeed a lot of features but with all of that I didn't manage to get rid of the blog aspect. And after you pay the money for it you realize it's not really that flexible. For my WP site I started using TemplateToaster instead and I am more than happy with it. It's more flexible, user-friendly and fast.

Artisteer customization.
As was stated in the review, this program allows those with no knowledge of coding to quickly design and publish a website template. Of course there are several Pros and Cons that go hand in hand with a product designed for simplicity.
The free download is fully functional but of course does add watermarks throughout your completed template. This can lead to some confusion to those that decide to purchase the home version as they then find out that they do not have the fine control over designing a WordPress template that they had in the trial version. I recommend that unless all you want to do is make a few simple templates that you got for the higher priced standard version.
For anyone with even a beginning knowledge of coding websites, they may find that they want several aspects of the generated template modified. Since Artisteer does not include some of these fine tuning options yet, such as adding additional modules to a Joomla! template, they have to rely on user support. This support comes from users such as those at our site http://www.artisteerhelp.com/ which offers help, tips and tutorials. Since it is not the function of the Artisteer devlopers to assist customers with customization support, users have to depend on each other to add additional functions to the generated templates. Artisteer has provided notice that they intend to expand functionality in these areas but has not provided a time line or release dates for these upgrades.
Pros:
Easy installation
Menus are intuitive
Good overall design control in the standard edition
Very quickly can generate a nice looking template
Fully functional demo available to test drive
Cons:
Does not support laying out custom modules / positions for the CMS's it can generate templates for
Home edition is more limited in granular control than standard edition
Does not support variable width templates More
